Reduction of blood vessels and discoloration consists in the thermal closure of dilated blood vessels and discoloration with the use of IPL light.

Who is closing blood vessels for?

For all people who have problems with dilated capillaries. The treatment allows:

  • close individual vessels, the so-called spider veins,
  • reduce the problem of dilated and broken capillaries,
  • reduce erythema in people with oversensitive skin,
  • reduce the unpleasant symptoms associated with rosacea.

The procedure can be performed on both women and men on all parts of the body.

How does closing the blood vessels work?

The light emitted by the IPL device is absorbed by hemoglobin, a substance in the blood. As in the case of photo-epilation, this dye is destroyed as a result of the ingestion of a huge dose of energy, damaging the surrounding tissues – the walls of the blood vessel. After a dozen or so days, the damaged tissues are metabolized by the body, and the blood vessel gradually turns pale.

How are skin discolorations formed?

The pigment – melanin – is responsible for the color of the skin. Melanin is produced by pigment cells located in the deepest layers of the epidermis – melanocytes. The more melanin, the darker the skin. The process of production and distribution of the dye in the epidermis takes place all the time. Under the influence of various factors, the work of melanocytes may be disturbed. The dye may be too much in one place or properly produced dye may be unevenly distributed in the epidermis. This is how the discoloration is formed.

There are many causes of pigmentation disorders. These include excessive exposure of the skin to sunlight, skin aging, hormonal imbalances, certain diseases and medications, infections, skin inflammation, the use of photosensitizing substances and others.

How to get rid of skin discoloration?

In order to eliminate discoloration, you need to get rid of excess pigment accumulated in the skin. In this case, we recommend IPL phototherapy, which precisely affects the melanin located in the pigmented lesion. The energy generated by the wave emitted by the device causes a rapid increase in temperature within the discoloration and destruction of the accumulated melanin. As in the case of phototherapy of blood vessels, here also the body gradually removes the remains of the damaged dye and the skin regains a uniform color.

How often?

Depending on the advancement of the changes, approximately 10 treatment sessions should be performed. All procedures are always selected individually. We repeat single treatments at 2-week intervals.

Advantages

The procedures for closing blood vessels and reducing discoloration are:

  • painless,
  • they give visible results in a short time,
  • they can be performed on all skin types,
  • does not cause additional irritation or redness,
  • it is not expensive compared to other methods showing similar effectiveness.

Treatments are minimally invasive, so we can perform them without any problems during breaks between daily duties. The lack of irritation does not generate problems related to the need for convalescence – you can return to your daily activities within a few minutes after the treatment.

The effects of the treatment

After a series of treatments, blood vessels and discoloration are significantly reduced or even completely eliminated. The skin becomes silky smooth, the entire microcirculation system works much more efficiently and the color is uniform. The skin becomes more resistant to external factors (e.g. weather conditions). Problems with temporary redness, most often resulting from other external factors (emotions, wind, frost, spicy food, alcohol) are losing importance.
